Mapping of Paraguayan industries registered in the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, year 2018

In Paraguay there is no map that reflects the location, distribution and concentration of industries by category or specialties. Considering the importance of an industrial map for territorial planning and the location of industrial companies both from the point of view of costs of environmental impact, this work aims to generate location maps of industrial companies grouped by category and determine the departments of Paraguay or cities with the largest concentration. The classification by item was made taking the Division to which corresponds the companies according to the CIUU Code registered in the Database of the registry of industries of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, updated to May 16 of 2018 and for the elaboration of the maps the QGIS software was used. The results show that the item or Division with the greatest presence is "Product development food and beverages” with 26.6% of the total, and the highest concentration of companies was checked in the Central Department, followed by Alto Paraná, Itapúa, Caaguazú and Cordillera.
