Transparency. A systematic review

The aim of this article is to find out, through a literature review, the level of transparency in public institutions such as municipalities and Autonomous Communities or regional governments, through the evaluation of transparency portals, i.e. whether the websites are used as an instrument to inform citizens of the management carried out. The PRISMA methodology was used for this study, i.e. a descriptive theoretical work of documentary model, because the procedure involves the task of searching, organizing, systematizing and analyzing a series of digital articles on transparency, whose strategy consisted of researching the transparency variable in the Scopus and Science Direct databases. Results, initially 3371 publications were located, then the exclusion criteria were applied with their reasons, determining our 8 articles with inclusion criteria with their reasons that has been the basis for carrying out this study, the evaluation of these articles has shown that the institutions comply with the legal obligations regarding the transparency law to have a website with a level of access to information, On the other hand, almost all of these portals do not have detailed and relevant information so that citizens can know and evaluate the management of their authorities, with the exception of the Local Transparency Portal of Galicia, which is a complete, efficient and easy to use platform.
