Scientific production of Paraguay, in the nursing area, period 2010-2022

Abstract

Introduction: In nursing, like other areas, the socialization of new findings is necessary. Knowing the scientific production in the area is key to the advancement of research in this discipline in the country. Objective: To characterize the scientific production of Paraguay in the area of Nursing, from January 2010 to October 2022 available in open access databases. Methodology: Cross-sectional, quantitative, exploratory descriptive bibliometric study. Articles on nursing published by authors with Paraguayan affiliation 2010-2022 were included, the search was carried out in 7 databases. Results: 39 research articles were identified. Most published in 2019 (11 articles). 133 authors with a single contribution, 6 with two, 5 with three and 1 author with four contributions. Being 4, the greatest amount of contribution. Subject areas are: nursing administration (15%), nursing assessment (26%), nursing education (59%). Most are quantitative (32) and Nursing Professionals as the object of study (33%). As a publication source, 15 journals were identified, with an average of 10 indexing. Conclusion: The recovered research articles show an important contribution in the area, the absence of clinical nursing research is striking.
