Current situation of Paraguayan films in the national market

The research work aims to determine the current situation of Paraguayan films in the national market. The applied methodology was based on a qualitative cross-sectional and descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through interviews with three professionals from the national cinema in October 2019. The question guide consisted of five open questions lasting approximately 40 minutes in each interview. The most relevant results were concluded in that the cinematographic sector is considered as a business opportunity, where the lack of private investment has been critical for the deployment of the industry. Likewise, the direction of distribution of Paraguayan films still has a long way to go, so there are several aspects that should be considered, especially in the training of experts in the area and in production logistics alternatives.
